Pet Rabbit

Pet lovers get the ecstasy of having bizarre companions to care for at home. Majority of them invest their money for a high quality cage, feeds or even clothes for their pets. They also spend time to take care of them like a baby such as bathing, tooth brushing, combing, cutting the nails, feeding rabbits and so on.

One of the most endearing pets you can have at home are the rabbits. They are friendly and kind creatures that makes them wonderful indoor companions. Rabbits are social animals and they like the company of other rabbits. However, linking your rabbits with another may take time as defensive feelings can arise and may result to aggression. Some of the rabbits would prefer to have their human all by themselves. When you have this kind of pet you have to learn how to develop a pleasant relationship with them. There are some tips to make them feel at ease with you: Speak to them softly and gently, don’t make loud noises or sudden moves, let them smell your hands but avoid touching their ears and feet until you know them well, stroke their head gently right in front of the ears and forehead but don’t try to stroke their chin because they don’t like their chin getting scratched and it puts you in easy grasp to receive a bite. They usually like being petted while they are calm and comfortable. You just need to be more patient and they will learn to trust you soon.

When you have pets at home you must also know about their life and nature to avoid things that are harmful to them. When petting a rabbit, don’t force if they do not want to be pet. Make sure that if you hold them in your arms they don't leap or droop from your arms for it can cause serious injury to them specially spinal injury because their instinct is to kick out frequently causing hyper extension. Never bathe a rabbit except if it is necessary because they are like cats in the way they clean themselves. Rabbits can't swim and a bath can cause them stress and the risk of chills or skin irritation. Rabbits rarely need a bath and may cause general melancholy if you don't do it right.

Rabbits are great pets! they are clean, quiet and affectionate creatures who can easily be litter box trained. Make a welcoming environment for your bunnies and acquire some ideas about their behavior to understand your rabbit's needs better. Provide them a safe home and you also have to offer them chew toys and hay because rabbit's teeth never stop growing, so they erode their teeth by constantly chewing. If you're not going to provide them those chew toys, your rabbit will going to choose to chew your furniture and carpets instead.
